Running Deer CIC
About the Case Study / Project
Running Deer is a Devon based enterprise set up to support local people and those at risk of exclusion by providing access to training, volunteering, life skills and work experience. The Rural Skills project provides practical hands on courses in rural skills including woodland management, coppicing, hedge laying, stone walling and hurdle making. These courses are designed for local people, in particular young people who are unemployed but want to stay in their own community. The Prince’s Countryside Fund has allowed the employment of two tutors, 2 apprenticeships, and will ensure 56 students are trained over the duration of the project.
